Why didn't they just start over in the A's? What happens if they have to retire a name because it's a really bad storm? No more Beta's?
If I had anything to say about it, I'd name all the new storms after the Little Rascals...Alfalfa, Butch, Chubby, Darla...

Too many women were complaining that the weather service was giving all the nasty hurricanes this year chick names. Blatant sexism, and not funny.
Rita, Katrina, Wilma....it also starting sounding like a list of the daughter names of one of those overly cute couples who give all the kids names with the same ending. You shouldn't get too cute with naming meteorological phenomenon that kill.
Greek letter names, great.
Now I suppose all the frat/sorority members around the world will start kvetching.

I think we'd all be a lot less grumpy if they chose Hurricane Names from the Comprehensive Bunny Name List:
http://www.altheim.com/bunny/
Some possibilities:
Hurricane Bon-Bon
Hurricane Pesky
Hurricane Gadgit
Hurricane Poppy
Hurricane Peter Pipper
Hurricane Tuffnut
Hurricane Dimples
.
.
.
etc.

... why are hurricanes named after women?
... because they arrive all wet and wild and when they
leave they take your house and your car....
