Aloha
I'm looking for some pointers to finding sources for exotica and 50's music in the uk.
Not really into vinyl, too many pennys and I'm too clumsy to keep them safe. Plus most my music gets mp3'ed for use.
Did go to intoxica recently, great stuff in there, nice people too.
So I'm looking to buy music [cd] from a UK source, to save money - yes, but also to support 50's music in the uk.
Hope someone can help.

I've found most of my exotica music through buying Mondo Exotica and then hunting down the artists featured on it. Amazon.co.uk or play.com are good, but i also find that any big HMV have a good easy listening section and you can often find stuff in the reduced section.
The The Freak Emporium have a good selection, but i haven't bought from them, but Stuart Maconie's Freakzone recommends them.

I've got a reasonable collection of exotica. I did start off a few years back with mondo exotica and did exactly as you suggested.
Not really tiki, but worth a mention is moviegrooves...

Does exactly what it says on the can, lots of crazy 50s, 60s and 70s tv and movie theme music. Some real diamonds, too.
I'd not heard about freakemp, had a quick nose round, looks great some spot on stuf there. I'll be lightening their store cupboard soon.
Thanks.

My wife's going to kill me, Movie Grooves is an Amazon just for my musical tastes, what a great site.

Colin, who runs movie grooves, is a great guy too. Good personal service.
I've been trying to convince him to expand into exotica.
If you like that, do you listen to luxuria music?

Awesome, it's on all the time in the studio.
