I was wondering which hotel is better to stay at while visiting the Big Island March 2 - 6th.

Wife, kids and I stayed at the Marriott four years ago, when it was an Outrigger. I'd definitely recommend it over the Hilton. The location was great. I loved walking from the hotel to the beach, passing the old royal fish ponds on the way. I will always remember the clacking sound of the palm trees on the beach there at A-Bay as I sat in a beach chair and watched the sunset. The hotel restaurant was a little spendy, but across the street's there's a little mall with some cheaper food alternatives.
We walked up to the Hilton one of the days we were there. Nice enough place, but too big of a complex for me. It didn't really feel "Hawaiian"...it could've been anywhere.
