Hey thanks Grog. I'm in a different situation now and hope to be able to post a little more.
MadDog, I like to show the inside of the mugs and without the profile it does look like a mustache cup. Never thought of that before.
Umeone and Mikey, the Luau CATT came up while were we brainstorming ideas for the raffle mugs. The relief on the cat fit the feel of Luau well and that's why it happened. Helz did a couple full color mocks ups and we went from there. That is a mug I would have liked to keep.
Zero, thank you

We did a mug a few years ago and always liked the basic design so we took the feel of our original and upsized it. That works for French fries, maybe it works for a mug. Besides making it larger, more and different detail was added. Here's a look at the first one out of the fire.
Yes, this one is brown, but we don't know where the color will end up.
He probably looks familiar to some folks.

I think the color is perfect (but I'm a traditional kinda guy) Great texture on the headdress

Hey, thank you guys. Yes, I like the traditional look myself, so browns always work for me.
Some time ago we did "Bub". During that time we also did one a little differently and it became a prize we gave away.
By request we did a family of "challenged Bubs", which we also gifted over the Holidays.
This is about the way you would expect them to be.
The problem with them is the bottom seems to be the top.
This is the way they really need to be.
Yep, they are down side up and up side down. Sometimes a little detour is a good thing.
Thanks again.

Hey thanks Mikey, sometimes you need to change things up just
for the fun of it and that's what those were.
Another project that went on through the Holidays was another "Bob"
carve. It was fun and believe it or not, very relaxing to carve again.
I hadn't done that in a while.
I started with a small piece of cottonwood. It's a soft wood and all I have.
Here's one for scale,
and he's finished.
I don't have the skills you carvers have but it was fun to do this again.
Wood chips and sanding dust were a nice change from plaster and clay.

Here's another guy that was on the shelf longer than I care to admit but, it has finally come to reality. We had this Tang working a long time as well as the Marq.
We did a handle or no handle and for hot stuff you do need a handle.
This Marq has been in the corner a long time so it feels good to finally get it done also.
Anyway, a little update and thanks for checking it out.
