Paris Jazz Corner has edited a new great compilation called "Paris, Plages d'Hawaii".
For the story, Hawaiian guitar was very, very popular in France in the 30s, lots of Hawaiian artists went there and created a phenomena. The parisian artists learned to play the Hawaiian style, and mixed french singing with hawaiian story.
This compilation is really great, with a nice cover by the french adopted Robert Crumb.
My only problem with it is that Cyril Lefebvbre, who collaborated on collecting the album, put a cover of a ukulele method on it that is from my collection, without telling me, and without thanking me...
Anyway, if you can get the album, it's really unusual, and great.

gawd, doncha hate that when someone uses your rare hard earned collected exotica artwork with no proper credit given?
hate when that happens.
And with no permission, either.
