Aloha,
does anybody know an old Surf Combo called "The Tides"? Well, that's not a very unique Name, but I found a few Tracks of them on an old German Sampler called "Inspiration". A probably Hit was "Pop goes the Surfboard". Are there any Re-Issues on CD? Mahalo!

The Tides had an LP called Surfin Favorites, but I don't think it's been reissued on cd. It's 60s studio band surfy instro and I think it was recorded in that 60s hotbed of surf culture, Nashville. The whole LP is all kinda silly cover songs. I always figured these studio band cash-in records picked those kind of tunes to cover (pop goes the weasel, yellow rose, john henry, etc.) because they must be public domain or something. But that was the golden age of cash-in records, so who knows if they actually paid royalties on any of it.
