As Tiki Joe & I were relaxing with some backround television the other day, I hear the familiar strains of the opening bars to Yma Sumac's "Bo Mambo". As I look up, the commercial featured your standard fare "Exotic" location, with the camera peeking through the palms and coming upon some cat pouring a shot of Kahlua over ice.
First and last, my sole hope is that Miss Sumac is getting some green for this short booze plug. She doesn't drink, so I'm guessing a case of the stuff wasn't part of the deal. Heaven forbid Capitol Record$ get one more cent at the expense of this legend. Dear Yma, we hope you got some scratch for this. You deserve it, dear Queen.

Every time I see this commercial I smile, it's great to hear the wonderful exotica Yma definitely deserves credit for.
