Hi Guys
I thought I'd throw this one open to the forum. I am based in the Uk and one of my passions apart from all things tiki related is Volkswagens, especially old ones. As such I attend a lot of VW based shows around the UK. A lot of the VW scene in the UK are surfers etc. One of my plans to subsidise the travel and show costs is to have a Tiki related stand selling all things Tiki, stone bone, resin and wood. Does anyone produce or could produce stuff at trade sorta prices??
Anyone interested, please email richard@flynn.eclipse.co.uk
Thanks
Flynny
Note:- Everything I make is influenced by Cultures around the globe, non are designed to be outright copies only my interpretation of pieces, artists, designs etc.

Hi Guys
I will get back to you all guys, Geckotiki, Cheekytiki and PD Drake, but for the moment I am interested in smaller stuff that I can carry about, carvings, pendants etc, If I manage to sell one or two items I might consider a trailer, but for now have to carry my gear around in the camper so am a bit stuck for room.
Heres what I've been up to (reason I've not posted for a while), thought I'd share a few of the things I have been making, It gets quite lonely in the garage, be grateful for your comments, something for everyone.
Most of these are nearing completion with just final sanding/polishing and binding posts to carve, there's even a bit of Jade in there (Paipo, Tama) At the top Apple Coral Palaoa (I think that 's what it's called),
Next down Jade hook, Apple Coral hook, and a gorge hook made from red stone Idon't know what this is, I got it from a rock and gem fair in a cabbing bargain box).
Next row on the left Buffalo Bone hook with carved Moai at the top, on the right Koa hook with inset Tiger Shark teeth,
Next row on the left Whale Jawbone hook, right Sea Cow bone hook with small Moai carved at the base also hole for binding attractor.
Next row on the left whale bone hook, on right Ebony and Mammoth Ivory hook, next row, Sea Cow gorge hook followed by Mammoth Ivory gorge hook.
Next VW logo in Jade (Isnapped it while sanding) unfinished, gutted
On the right Amber gorge hook hook.
At the bottom are work in progress and projects
Sorry about the photos, as and when each piece is complete I will post a detailed photo.
What dya think.
Best Regards
Flynny

Mate. You HAVE been busy! Looks as though you're well & truly - hooked! Bummer about the VW symbol... Quite a managerie there too; a great learning curve utlising the differing materials. There's a good looking stall already; Id stop for a look!
Thanks for sharing those. I would be good to see them individually as theyre finished...

Looking good Flynny.
Very crisp work; carving, inlays & binding... Are you leaving them un-toggled & finishing 'while U wait'? Good idea; I offer this with online sales & it is generally very well received. Some people dont seem to care/mind but the majority like that personal touch.
How long before the first market/meet?

Hi Tama
Thanks for the comments, your right I've left the plaits long 26 inches to finish where the buyer wants, I'm going to make different toggles so they can pick.
Peb is looking mighty fine, get him on a plane.
Cheers
Flynny

Hi Guys
This is Elwood, so named cos he looks like a Blues Brother with his Jade sunglasses, he's going to the show at the weekend but I don't think anyone will buy him. He was a nightmare to carve, made fromold Sea Cow bone full of little pockets which all seem to crop up when you dont wan't them to, nose mouth tongue etc, wrong choice of material for a tight carving, the bone just isn't dense enough, but I love him.
The other hook is a composite hook Ebony and Mammoth Ivory, will post a few more hooks up soon.
Thanks for looking, any comments welcomed
Best Regards
Flynny
