The checking of the wood gives it a cool vintage look. Trying to get wood to dry is a real pain in moist environments. I have a wood shed just for that purpose. Looking forward to see more!!

Great looking marq and congratulations on your move to paradise! (I know that's a bit late...)

I had always thought that their might be a pretty decent tourist market for traditionally inspired tikis on the islands. I'm assuming you've been to
Havaiki in Hanalei?

thanks for posting the close ups, and the different views. It shows off the way the whole tiki has continuity back to front. I agree with Aloha, the checking just adds to the vintage look to this incredible carve. Killer stuff!!
