That last one is carved from Banyan. I'd like to find more, it carves nice.

Well, the
Banyan is a member of the Ficus family, so you may find it easier to find (at least similar) wood by looking around for Ficus or Fig. Just a suggestion.

I've carved some Ficus/Banyan. It was nice to carve, however, I had one piece that had a big dead spot in the middle, that had been grown over. You would have never known by the outside of the log. Grows fast with big logs, super moist, and can have a cool grain.

Here's a nice photo of my newest tiki, but for some reason, pics I upload to TC are coming out sideways. They're fine elsewhere, and I even tried to pre-rotate it 90 degrees before uploading...?!
ANyway, this tiki is 3 feet tall, and carved from Kukui Nut tree.
Background is Lawai, Kauai.
