So my sister-in-law had an interesting proposal for us. She and her family were headed over to New Orleans last week to see AFI play at the House of Blues and wanted to give them something at the meet and greet before the show. Seeing as she is a Tiki fan herself she asked if we would do a rendition of the band as tiki's. Apparently they (AFI) liked it enough to mention it in their tour video. Check the print below, and then click on the YouTube link and see them mention it (it's toward the end) we were kind of excited to see somebody else like our stuff.

Hope you like it, let us know what you think (seriously)
Mahalo,

Great going, frostiki! It feels great to get that kind of recognition for your work. That's a cool piece!

And I never thought I would see emo and tiki mix... how wrong I was!
Nice art though

Sam, yeah it really is a great confidence booster to get recognition for your stuff. Thanks for the kind words, it's even more of a compliment booster when other artist's like your stuff. We are finally getting motivated and setting some artistic goals for ourselves. When I get home tonight I need to post some of the other half of Frotiki's paintings.
Hewey, I can honestly say that we never would have thought of combining the two had Mrs. Frostiki's sister not asked us to do this print. It was a real challenge trying to figure out a cool direction to go with them. The witch doctor mask idea seemed like the best route for it.
Keep your eye out for more witch doctor & tiki ideas. I'm working on some shrunken head ideas in my cluttered mind to compliment the scenes.

I wasn't quite sure what to classify them as, they are sort of EMO, sort of Goth, sort of punk. And now they are witch doctors with spears and fire.

Thanks, I think that classification could make a lot of things better. BTW, I just took a look at you lamps, very cool, I like those a lot. MUch better thatn the wicker baskets that my wife and I put together to make our lamps in our tiki room.

I'm bumping with a shameless plug. We finally have launched our website www.frostiki.com. I know this isn't exactly creating Tiki, but we have some of our Tiki prints, and paintings on there. Plus there was creativity involved with making the site.
Oh yeah, more stuff is coming soon.
Mahalo,
Frostiki
