Van Halen will be on tour this year. So they have announced. How long will the tour last???
I say three shows and the tour is canceled.
On a side note does VH=tiki? maybe. In a "six degrees of kevin bacon" sort of way.
What is it?

I dont know how to post photos or album covers.
But David Lee Roth did a LP after Van Halen called "Crazy from the Heat"
and he was standing in the ocean, by a small tropical island.
very tiki looking in my opinion.

Their bassist had some sort of Flash site with tiki, or was that Rush...
I say they disband before the first show.
I saw them in 1979 and 1980. That was the best show evar.

How long will this tour last??? Until David Lee Roth's hairpiece gets too oily from all the walker-aided jumping around on stage.

I say 4 1/2 shows and the tour is over.
Swanky - That was Alex Lifeson's Tiki bar that you're referring to.

I don't want to wager on this-I have memories of the original Van Halen (w/ David Lee Roth) & never accepted Sammy Hagar-that said, thinking about this, it reminds me of how much older I am-but still, when I hear, "Jamie's crying"...I'm transported back to high school (well, maybe not high school, but skipping high school)...

Rev Boo = + 1 for the Police Pool
Rush still rocks! Went onto U Tube the other night looking for Morgan Rose Vids and found Neil Peart bangin sticks too. What a treat!

David Lee Roth performs the song Jump in a bluegrass style on the Tonight Show.

Eddie did some soundtrack work for a porn movie.

The shows over once someone sobers up, or brown M&Ms are served in the dressing room.

How about a different wager: how many aging rock-star jokes will we hear before the tour starts?

Heard about this the other day too.
Quote:
| With the announced reunions of Van Halen and the Police, it was only a matter of time until the name Led Zeppelin was thrown into the mix. Rock photographer and Jimmy Page friend Ross Halfin wrote on his website, "John Paul Jones has apparently announced on a Toronto radio station that Led Zeppelin will tour next summer. This of course meant I woke up to a load of mail asking if it's true. Look, I'm not a Led Zeppelin website or news board, I'm sure the official announcement will be out soon with all the details on Jimmy Page's website. The tickets are bound to be cheap -- you can re-mortgage your house to see your heroes."
Jones is supposed to have made the announcement on CILQ-FM, but the station's "Rock Report" says, "None of us have spoken to John Paul Jones recently. If we had, we'd all probably be asking for bass lessons. So to the (idiot) out there spreading rumors... and leading on Zep fans around the world -- your time is gonna come... So once more -- no Zeppelin reunion to speak of. Don't let anybody tell you different."
Of course, that hasn't stopped the British tabloid The Sun from going with the story. Their version says Page, Jones, and Robert Plant met two weeks ago in their management office and quoted a "band insider" as saying, "If the right offer comes up, they will do it," adding that a stadium tour could bring them over $12.5 million.
The late John Bonham's son Jason is supposed to take his father's place on drums. Jason has in recent years been a member of Foreigner, which has dates booked into October.

Swanky wins! Hot off of Blabbermouth.net:

| According to Pollstar.com, the VAN HALEN tour that was never officially announced is now officially postponed indefinitely. The rumored tour took on an air of reality after a trade magazine announced that original singer David Lee Roth was about to sign on the dotted line, and that was soon followed by a press release via Eddie Van Halen's spokeswoman-slash-girlfriend. Unfortunately, the worldwide frenzy of a VH reunion was too good to be true, at least for the present day. However, there was a lot of paper getting inked and Pollstar states that a tour announcement might not have been far off.
Sources also tell Denver's Rocky Mountain News that VAN HALEN's performance at next month's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony may also be in jeopardy too.
A few days ago, RollingStone.com uploaded the first official photo of the new VAN HALEN lineup, featuring the group's new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen (son of VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen). Check it out at this location.
In an exclusive interview with RollingStone.com, VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth stated about his first post-reunion jam with Eddie, "Eddie and I wrote the songs, every note, every syllable, as if we invented a language that only we can speak. It was an easy, natural thing… When you speak a language that you both created, it's natural to go, 'I know you.' So it was very easy. There wasn't any stumble at all. I just showed up, and twenty minutes later, it was the usual, 'How's the wife, how's the kids, let's play.' When you're born to do that language, you speak it naturally. I never forgot it."
On how rehearsals are going, Roth said, "The chemistry is combustible. There's an explosive sound there that is, I think, perhaps… unless you were there, which most folks weren't, than you may have forgotten. This is really sophisticated, smart stuff. Everybody's at the top of their game in terms of… it's not just intangible things. My voice is arguably better than it was when I left the band back when. I love what I do, perhaps for some different reasons now than I did, more so than I did. It's a privilege to do what I do for a living."
VAN HALEN will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on March 12 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. |
