Sammy Hagar and the WABORITAS performed "I Can't Drive 55" during the pre-race ceremonies Sunday (February 25) at the NASCAR Auto Club 500. Former VAN HALEN bassist Micheal Anthony provided background vocals on the track. Watch video footage of the performance at this location.

Even though Hagar won't be on the road much this year, he performed recently at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Mexico with Michael Anthony and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith, and he told Launch the three of them might hit the studio together. "We're thinking about, when the CHILI PEPPERS tour is over, about doing a little record," he said. "Not a permanent thing, but we've been calling ourselves CHICKEN FOOT down here, you know? A power trio. And it's so much fun playing in a power trio, you know? I haven't done it in a long time, playing all the guitar, and, and Mike and I singing together. It's pretty strong, man, it's a pretty exciting band. So we're thinking about going in the studio, and maybe making a record."
