Anybody out there have any information on the release of a new rum possibly called "Legasy" by Appleton blended to fill the gap between the 12 year old and the 21 year old? Could this be an attempt to replicate a blend similar to TV's Private blend that he used for his original Mai Tai? A new version of the 17 year old Wray and Nephew?

From the sounds of it, it has too much oak for me.

The reviewer from The Art of the Drink writes . . .
"I wouldn't recommend using this rum for cocktails, but it would make one hell of a nice Mai Tai and I'm sure I'll eventually disobey my own advice and mix one up."
This piques my curiosity even more!

Apparently it's not likely to be available here either, it was produced especially for the Canadian market.
Ah well, we will just have to make do with the new Appleton Rum that is coming out over here, and it's going to be old.
