For those of you who love kitschy pseudo-Hawaiiana, I just watched an interesting film on DVD. I got if for "Mondo Balardo" a cash-in follow up to "Mondo Cane". On the same disc was "Primitive Love" starring Jayne Mansfield. It was also a cash-in of the same "documentary" of love around the world practices. There's a fantastically bad scene in the middle of what is supposed to be Hawaii...a bunch of 1960s "wahines" in sarongs, fake leis, dancing a "hula" around this lagoon to Annette Funicello's "Date Night in Hawaii."
There are no tikis in sight, but it's worth the price of admission.
