Heads up for a surf show up ahead...
Johnny Bartlett (Phantom Surfers, Saturn V, Scuba Men, Hillsdale Records, all around bon vivant) passed along this word about a FREE show with his current band the Barbary Coasters at the Bamboo Hut in SF (that's San Francisco, not San Fernando).
Here's a rare opportunity to witness some traditional surf instrumentals by some guys that know their way around the genre. On Wednesday, July 11th, the Barbary Coasters will play at the Bamboo Hut in San Francisco. After a standard set with their female vocalist Jessica Roux, the boys will do a set of surf instros (like Tragic Wind, Minor Chaos, Mr. Rebel and jazz like that) plus some Gary Usher hot rod vocal tunes (My Sting Ray, Custom Caravan and such). There will be more reverb than you can shake a stick at.
