Bill "Tappy" Tapia has lived his life as an entertainer for over 85 years and still remains one of the hardest, longest working musicians under the radar. Along with his chops, charm, keen taste in fashion and love of cars comes his flawless mind and sense of humor.
A performer since World War I, Bill has embarked on perhaps the unlikeliest comeback ever over the past few years. His first 2 CDs have scored top 10 on the CMJ Jazz Charts and he continues to sellout shows all over the West Coast and Hawai'i.
"As delightful as it is surprising... Tapia's 86+ year career includes jams with long-gone pioneers of American music, including Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday & Fats Waller. ...Tapia takes his rightful place alongside these greats." - BILLBOARD MAGAZINE

I don't know about "unlikely comebacks". This man is simply amazing and can play any instrument. Yesterday morning I was at his house, and he had a steel guitar set up with a small amp. We did an impromptu jam seesion in between his appointments, which he has all morning long. He can play that steel guitar better then anyone!
