Gonna give this thread a bump since Disney has been a bit more of a topic around here lately. This thread was started as a Yang to Cammo's Yin thread of "why Disneyland sucks".

Discuss amongst yourselves.

I'll admit to going to the new Tiki Bar at the Disney Hotel,
but have only been once, and not in a super hurry to go back.
But I will one day.

as for Disneyland, My Mom has been working there for over a year now,
and can sign me in.
But I haven't gone once since then.

Guess I'm waiting for that drizzly November Monday to go.
Disney has lost a lot of its magic for me.

Like bigdude, Disney's picture in my mind has faded a bit, due to the crap they have been peddling for a long time now concerning the way kids should be, to be good Disney kids. A lot of propaganda put out trying to make kids be like Selena or Miley or some other little princess-type. I think they have a vat somewhere where they grow these Disney kids.
On the other hand, my folks took to me to Disneyland the first year it was open and every year till about '68 when I turned 18 and our family vacations kind of evaporated. I love Disneyland for lots of reasons. Hoping to go in October/November for the first time in about 10 yrs. I like the rainy, grey days too.

My only complaint is the crowds. It's too much, and though the place was always crowded, as a child I remember being able to run from land to land, and it never seemed to be as bad as it is today. As I said before ( three years ago) it's 3 things:

1. Strollers people use are as big as a mini cooper. The old strollers you use to rent where very small.

2. They use less staff when it is not as busy, thus, there is always a line to get in that is just as long as it is on a busy summer saturday

3. Ignorant, bad parents keep toddlers and babies there far too long. In the old days, people would take their babies home by 5 in the evening. Their day was over, and they went home. Disneyland became "Disneyland after dark" and was the place for older kids and teenagers. Not anymore. It's totally common now to see babies and infants there with the parents at 11:00 at night.

Other then that, I still love DL but like Jeff said, will have to wait for a cold, rainy grey day.

Hey Jollical Jeff and Lamenting Lucas,
Last time I checked, this was the Why Disneyland RULES thread! Go take your complaints about how the killer bees that have infested Tarzan's Treehouse just aren't the same as the killer bees that had infested the Swiss Family Treehouse, how the meat skewers at Bengal BBQ will give you mad cow disease that could lay dormant in your bloodstream for years, or how all the Aristocats ended up with feline AIDS over to to the
Why Disneyland Sucks thread.

I too, am puzzled as to why Jeff seems to be saying he doesn't like Trader Sams. I thought it was pretty much unanymous that the place was very well done, and true to tiki style!

This is one of our favorite Disneyland things. From the old parking lot.

I didn't say I didn't like Trader Sams,
I just don't think its a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale.
I'm not going to go there by myself,
I need to know if some TC peeps are going.
But as close as I live to Disneyland and the Hotel,
Nobody has called or PMed me to say "lets meet up".
Maybe I'm not as super popular as I thought I was,
ha ha ha,

and Trader Sam's is heavy on the Trader vibe, and only some Tiki.
which is fine, but not what or how I would design a Tiki Bar.

So Lucas, when are we going?
Jeff(btd)
