You coulda picked up a digital camera and snapped a shot in that direction without ever looking up. Even a cell phone camera with flash would do. I'm pretty sure that the flash from your camera would upset him more than the flash he was giving you. You'd have the pic to show the doctors and the police.

Next time, calmly pick up the phone like you're making a business call, then dial 9-1-1, smiling all the while so he thinks you're just chatting with a friend. The guy should've been arrested for breaking and entering if nothing else.
