I have searched a few of my books and cant seem to find much that resembles it. Looks like a woven coarse cloth fringed on the outer edge seems like it is made of natural fibers it measures about 4ft tall by 2 1/2 wide.

Ken I have some obscure books on Pacific art from the 60"s and i found several examples of similar looking pieces. The caption reads " painted panel made from palm leaves. From the Maprik area New Guinea."
Palm fiber has a woven appearance. if that helps any Dawn
