I'm having a few problems geting hold of the right stuff for my first tropical drinks evening. We have rums o' plenty down here (incl. Appleton), but I am having a major problem finding apricot brandy for a Zombie. The only thing I can find is Bols Apricot Liqueur (made from cognac), which has exactly the same packaging as the apricot brandy they make for the Euro market. This leads me to believe I could make it a substitute. Am I totally off base here, or could it work?

Yes, it will work fine. Apricot brandy is usually just brandy flavored with apricot, rather than actually being distilled from an apricot wine. You apricot liqueur with cognac may even be better than the usual cheap apricot brandy. If the zombie is made properly, the rum will be the predominant flavor anyway.
