My better half and I are going to be in London for a couple of days in September. Does anyone have any updates on this thread, or is this still reliable info?

mostly still reliable  but also add Mahiki's new sister club in the city: Kanaloa.

Thanks for the info. Since we'll probably only get to go to one place while in London, which one would you recommend? We'll be staying at the Park Plaza near the Westminster Bridge, and I'd like to go somewhere relatively close and easy to get to.

IMHO Trader Vic's is still the best place in London - great drinks, great service by very friendly staff, authentic decor from original Tiki period and food as well if you want to eat.
All the others lack the restaurant, and play music which is very modern and not tiki. However if you want to see the best revival tiki-style bar and cocktails with a modern twist then I think Kanaloa curently has it. The music is not so loud if you go early.

Am also looking for "if you can only do 1 or 2 tiki things in London" recommendations...
And sad news for those looking to do a "Werewolves of London" tour: it looks like Lee Ho Fook's has closed down based on the October 6, 2009 review here on Trip Advisor:
