Question....... What is the connection between Arthur Lyman, Martin Denny, former Soviet premiere Nikita Khrushchev and Richard Nixon?
Answer...... The Kaiser Aluminum Dome.
As many of you know, both Lyman and Denny recorded music in the Kaiser aluminum dome, located on the grounds of the Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, Hawaii.
But you may not know that a similar Kaiser aluminum dome was also constructed for the U.S. exhibit at the 1959 Moscow world's fair. A neighboring pavilion of the exhibit was the site of the famous kitchen debates held between Khrushchev and then vice-president Richard Nixon.
The following link provides newsreel footage of the kitchen debates, which includes a few seconds footage of the Moscow Kaiser dome.
I like this video too, which adds a Disney element to the story - no dome footage here though.
