For anyone interested, the goodwill in downtown Santa Cruz has two bins filled with Bamboo windchimes.

Wind chimes suck but you could make lamps etc from em....

Those float ones are cool, but they'd end up smashed in my yard I think. SDT your painted version is great! Mine is huge, about 3 1/2 or 4' tall I think.
