This is one ya'll don't wanna miss, so mark your calendars now for Saturday November 19th and join us for The Vallures very first appearance at the Chef's "Evening in Shangri-La" event.

Here's a little more info...

The Vallures are five ladies and one gentleman who are giving the hits of the sixties a fresh new face. Bringing girl group era Motown, rock, soul, rhythm and blues, to life once again with new twists and all the energy and creativity of the originals. ...Although the focus is on the girl group covers The Vallures are all from very diverse musical backgrounds (everything from punk to salsa) and this reflects in song choice and style. Jes Franco (ex Coinslot lead vocalist) put the group together in March of twenty ten in an effort to play music she loved while featuring women as musicians. Backed by Libby (keys) Danielle (drums) Bryce (bass) and Meredith (guitar) along with Laura (backup vocals and percussion) add to their ‘wall of sound’. The live show has got it all; the songs you love as well as rare gems you can’t believe you’ve never heard. Don’t forget about the eyeliner, coordinated dresses, big hair and heels baby. The Vallures are alright, uptight, outta’ sight and will have you singing and dancing all night!

Don't forget there's a new food and drink menu and happy hour specials in the bar as well. Saturday night the drink special is (4) Tiki Shot Glasses $11 or $30 filled with house shots. So come on out, have some pupus, a tropical libation or two and enjoy the Rockin' R&B sounds of The Vallures!

Stay tuned for this months FREE raffle items coming soon!!!!!

13 Tikis are returning to the Chef on Saturday February 18th for "An Evening in Shangri-La"

For those who aren't familiar...
...13 TIKIS are Chicago’s premier Surf & Instrumental band. They bring the excitment of sax driven Garage-Rock and the fun of Instro Surf to the much needed Chicago Area. Formed in 2004 when guitarist Phil Tiki found drummer Jack The Ripper on MySpace. Larry, Mr. Friday, joined on bass to bring the music of Link Wray to life. Suzie joined on sax shortly after and amazing guitarist, Stevie Martini joined in 2009 to complete the lineup.

In 2008, they were asked to be part of the “Induct Link Wray Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame” concert in Cleveland, OH. Members of Link’s family, Ed Cynar from Link’s Wraymen as well as members of the RRHOF were in attendance.

13 TIKIS have played places such as Chef Shangri-La, Trader Vic’s, Reggie’s Rock Club, The Liar’s Club, and Friendy Tap in Chicago, The Foundation in Milwaukee, WI, The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH and are regulars at Oak Fest in Oak Forest, IL.

Remember there's a new food and drink menu and happy hour specials in the bar as well. Saturday night the drink special is a Freaky Tiki served in Collector Mug for $18.00. So come on out, have some pupus, a tropical libation or two and enjoy the thundering rhythms of 13Tikis!

FREE Raffle photo coming soon, plus this month filling in for Coalbe & me, our good friends Gary and Donna will be your guest raffle host & hostess. Thanx guys!

It's the return of Hillbilly Idle back at the Chef for this month's "Evening in Shangri-La" Saturday May 19th...

...here's a little bit from their FB bio, to tell ya'll about the boys.

In 2003, three long time vets of the Chicago Rockabilly scene got together to bust out Rockabilly as it occurs to them. Hillbilly Idle takes traditional Rockabilly, Country, Surf, and a little bit of Punk Rock - throw it all in to the blender, add a whole lot of Rum and turn it on high! This ain't your Grandad's Rockabilly!

Over the years, the band members' musical credits include such bands as: Rebel Rousers, Sea Sick Crocodiles, Venus Flycats, The Bottletones, HiFi, and many many more.

Don't forget the new food and drink menu plus happy hour specials in the bar as well. Saturday night the drink special is an $8 Mango Bango or $15 w/ Eastern Islander mug. So come on out, have some pupus, a tropical libation or two and enjoy the rockin' rhythms of Hillbilly Idle!

Stay tuned for FREE raffle photo next week!

See Ya'll at the Chef!!!!!
