While Googling for blowfish lamps on the internet I found these instructions for making your own:

Looks easy, the only problem is that in Manteno, Il., there's no blowfish fishing. The best I could do is a pet store in Orland Park... Nah.

EWWWWWW! I have several blowfish lamps, some I've "made" but not to that extent. I simply cut a hole in the top of a dead one. I've seen many of these guys while scuba diving and don't think I could yank them apart. I'm a wuss, so I'd probably harass one til it puffed up then throw it back if I ever caught one.
Has anyone made one from scratch? It may be cool to say "yea, I caught that" Do I see a T.C. fishing event in our future? Drunk fishing IS fun!

Are there any faux plastic blowfish lamps in existence? I would rather have a fake one if there is such a thing. Anyone know?

Oceanic Arts had some back in January - more fun & toylike, rather the realistic looking. Didn't keep me from buying one, though - it is quite cute!

I saw a plastic blowfish clock in a local discount store, all chubby & cute with googly eyes & a small clock in its jaws. The spikes weren't very spiky, but chubby & cute like the rest of it's body. You could possibly find it at local discount or novelty stores.
