G'day all,
Have not posted here for a very long time and thought I might check in with some progress pics of my Pin Stripe Moai - not finished yet and just getting down to detailing now. He stands at 11 inches tall and 3 and 3/4 inches wide - I am making these for a client.
Will post more when finished.
Cheers, Simon.

Welcome back T-Rock, Nice square looking Moai you have going. Nice choice for that piece of wood, which looks like Pine right? Finish him up and start another one and another one and another one. ________________

Fine Job! I like the hands, lips and the grain of the wood.

G'day again,
Thanks for all the kind words ... I've finished this guy now and have a couple of pics to share. The wood is pine as Ben said - I pulled several long planks of the stuff from a construction site skip ( Dumpster ). I have plenty more to play with now but the challenge was finding a Tiki to fit the profile ... the Moai seemed best.
On to the next one ... working on a big Moai head cocktail bar stand!
Cheers, Simon.
