Art Opening and Winter Luau at the Official Bad Art Museum of Art (OBAMA) at Cafe Racer with Tiki Sensation 7-piece ukulele band The Ukadelics, Friday, Feb. 6th.
The Official Bad Art Museum of Art has just acquired a new selection of Tiki-themed Paint-by-Number's for your artistic enjoyment and edification.
The Ukadelics, one of Seattle's best kept ukulele secrets, don Aloha wear and play music from Lawrence Welk to Don Ho on ukulele, slide guitar and a variety of percussion instruments.
Event starts at 7pm with Polynesian dinner specials and fruity drinks with little paper umbrellas from Cafe Racer. Relax to the dulcet sounds of DJ Terence Gunn spinning exotica and lounge music throughout the evening. Music at 8pm.
Bad art, Exotica, Lounge wear, Hawaiian dancers, loud Aloha shirts, Polynesia, Paint-by-numbers, black velvet paintings and muu-muu's. All bad art and Tiki afficianado's welcome.

We went to the Winter Luau at the Official Bad Art Museum of Art (OBAMA) ~ it’s at Café Racer ~ JoDavid and Marlow are the curators. the event was to start at 7 ~ everyone else was fashionably late. it was good we got there early, as our food took forever to arrive, and there were only 4 tables. so we hunkered down at the smaller table and waited for our friends to arrive.
The art is really bad. but in most ways, endearing ~ at least a little bit.
I wore my new thrift-store coat.

It was pretty jam packed! So I didn’t get photos of Jeffery & Erich, Barbara or JoDavid’s kids. The Ukedelics were great ~ they even had a flip chart with lyrics to the songs!
