I actually like that ginger beer Bastard quite a bit... I think it's a light & easy summertime cocktail. But I use fresh lime & sugar syrup instead of Rose's...

I really enjoy ginger beer on its own... A mocktail or can of pop can really hit the spot
My favourite mocktail is LLB (lemon lime & bitters). Fill glass with muchos ice, squeeze half a lime juice, top with lemonade, add several dashes of bitters.
You can use squash, tonic, soda, cartoned fruit juice - as long as its long, cold, has citrus & bitters, its a winner if you need booze a bit of Wray & Nephews works great IMO

Who knows? Sippin Safari has a coke version, Trader Vics has a 'mai tai with an extra shot' version.
I think the attitude was/is 'That Zombie / Mai Tai / etc is selling well at their bar, lets make a version to compete!'

Had a great time meeting some of the Florida East Coast Tiki Folks last night at an event, heard some killer surf music and enjoyed a few nice drinks mixed up for that event. The best drink of the night was the Witch Doctor, an old Jasper LaFranc Bay Roc Hotel cocktail that will be among those featured in Beachbum Berry's upcoming Caribbean cocktail book. Front and center in the drink is a heavy dose of Jasper's Mix with lime juice, sugar, Ango and grated nutmeg. Delicious!
Here's the recipe as related by the Bum at his Hukilau seminar:
Jasper laFranc's Witch Doctor
1.5 oz jaspers mix
1.5 oz gold rum
0.5 oz cherry Heering or cherry brandy
0.5 oz triple sec
Mix with cubed ice
Garnish with pineapple and cherry
Came home and spun up a couple 1934 Zombies to wind down with. I made that drink for several years without LH151 because I couldn't get it, and it was a servicable drink but not a favorite. With the Lemon Hart it just comes together so perfectly. The last year since LH151 has been back in Florida this drink has been in much more heavy rotation.

Gotta use up that bottle of bubbly before it goes flat! Been there, drank that.
Black Velvets usually also make it into the use-up-the-prosecco rotation if I happen to have a bottle of Guinness on hand.

Donga Punch
Sticking to the required martinique rum style, I used Saint James Royal Amber.
Im not a fan of the 'earthy' after taste of the rhum - in this drink its still there but the drink is surprisingly good anyway!

It's hot and humid outside, how about a refreshing Limoncello Spritzer? 1 part Setlzer Water, 1 part Lemon-lime Soda, 1 part Limoncello, garnish with lemon wheel, blueberries, and mint.
