But you do feel lighter. And there's more room inside you for rum - more so for some here than others, ha!

Wait, there is a limit to how much rum you take in? I think you may need to see a doctor.

A day late, I'm celebrating National Rum Day with not one, but two Rum Juleps ...

The Don the Beachcomber 1940s version from Sippin' Safari (left), and a brand spanking new tribute to The Mai-Kai's version, which dates back to 1956 and is arguably better than the original. The recipes and my analysis are newly posted at:

Started with a pair of Hemingway Daiquiris and finished with a 1956 Zombie.

Mai Tai with Appleton Extra and El Dorado 12. Using a new batch of homebrew orgeat and I need to find the right balance with the curacao and lime juice -- this first drink is a tad to citrusy and some of the rum flavors are getting lost. Going to take a couple more Mai Tais to get in the zone but I feel up to the task.

I have been dieting the last couple of weeks and this is my first drink in a while so I will probably be a cheap date tonight.

After saying in another thread I rarely drank them, I thought I'd have a quick Mai Tai to relax... its good, still 7 stars on Swanky's Grogaliser 2.0 in my book
