Made a new hot buttered rum recipe tonight using a Zacapa 23 base. It has a really delicious hinted aftertaste of jammed berries and dark chocolate.

Having something I'm calling an "X-15" based on the Jet Pilot recipe.
Half ounce lime juice
Half ounce grapefruit juice
Half ounce falernum
Half ounce cinnamon syrup
Half ounce Coruba
Half ounce Smith & Cross
Three quarter ounce gold Puerto Rican
Three quarter ounce Lemon Hart 151
Dash bitters
6 drops Pernod
Adding the Smith and Cross and lowering the Coruba made this thing pretty darn tasty!
Cheers!

now a navy grog. but I'm out of rum.
so, substituting 3 oz Powers Gold Label irish whiskey and 2 teaspoons of Macallan 12 year old single malt for the rums. and it's damn good.
you can call me the MacGyver of cocktails...

Mmmm, 10:30 on a Sunday morning and I'd drink that right there! Don't know if it'd go with the pancakes and bacon I just had.
