Anybody know anything about these ? when they were made?
Dont imagine they sold for much but ....
Are there alot of variations out there of these or is this a one tiki casa operation...

where I find most stuff!.....in the wild and weird jungle of disgarded gifts at GOODWILL lol
It's solid and heavy as well kinda like cement but I'm guessing some kind of resin.
(The roman numerals are there secret pricing system)

That is a cheapo-but-cool plaster item offered in the 60s by Paul Marshall Products in L.A. and Johnson Products in Chicago:

They were pretty common in L.A. until the late 90s, when Tiki collecting became a wider sport. Oceanic Arts did a nice lamp based on it a couple of years ago, I got one:
It was also used as a cheap prop on Gilligan's Island, as mentioned here:

I always felt that these inspired the great modernist Moai at the Aku Aku apartments in Inglewood (BOT p.121):
..which in turn inspired Bosko's long-nosed Moai creations!:

I also have a side hobby of finding movie/tv prop items, and the connection to one of my old timey faves is great!
