Street:291 Ocean Shores Blvd.
City:Ocean Shores
State:WA
Zip:
country:USA
Phone:
Status:operational
Description:
Here is a great image of the vintage sign. The place is still open but I think most of the Polynesian decor is gone along with the Lani Restaurant. Anyone have anything on this one? Here is the website for the resort. http://thepolynesian.com/
A newer image from the website.

Trav,
Here is another postcard with a different sign out front, not an improvement in my book.
Also a postcard rendering from Puamana.
The matchbook.

Thanks DC. I was thinking you may have something. Great stuff. Another example of how the rendering is always better than the real thing.

That is a cool find, Don, since this is a hobbyist mug, but I don't think a version from this hotel has come up yet:

It's out there in all kinds of glazes, some more interesting than others, like the one on the left, with speckles of green:

Now the one on the right (from the Tiki Kate collection) would not be so interesting, would it not have this pedigree on the back:

Despite the gold cold paint job being pretty crappy, the combination of Tiki and Space Needle is damn cool!
Maybe there was a booth where you could "paint your own Tiki mug" at the fair? And who was Virginia Moore ?
A house wife ? A teenager ? A tourist from Southern California? Will we ever find out?
P.S.: Not to forget, here's a GOOD thread about that World's Fair:
