An internet search shows the Polynesian Motel is still doing business in Anaheim, but the fantastic sign is gone.

ah I miss that sign,
I live 2 blocks from there,
and when friends come to go to the NAMM convention.
they stay there.
its cheap and kinda nasty, but they are only sleeping 6 hours then off to the convention so it doesn't really matter.
no tiki decor in the rooms.
The Kona Motel is about 2 miles North on Brookhurst.
that sign is still there.

Nice that the Kona is still there...
...but nothing makes up for the loss of the Samoa Motel!

Great shots there Sven.
I took some of the Linbrook Bowl Recently just in case in goes the way of the dodo bird.
I really need to get a tripod to take non flash pics though.
for those wanting to see the Kona Motel its off the 5 freeway about 1/2 mile south on Brookhurst. which is about 2 or 3 miles west of Disneyland.
