Zero, pardon my ignorance - but are these done digitally or in paint? Whatever it is, I love your style

Thanks Mike!
I start with a sketch on paper. Sometimes detailed, sometimes not. I believe the sketch for this latest is a few pages back in this thread. Then I work almost exclusively digital. I also on occasion use photographs I take to layer in textures. For example, on this latest illustration part of the texture you see in the foreground Tiki is one of the trees outside my house. In some of my pieces you can see my palms and papaya trees as textures in the backgrounds. I am itching to do some acrylic originals. I haven't painted on canvas in MANY years and it's calling to me!

Made some changes here and there and have begun to lay in lots of detail! Using my backyard as reference (living in HOT South Florida has it's benfits! )
WestADad, you may like to know that this one is now tentatively titled "Cosmo At The Moon Palace"
Figure I have about 2 weeks or so to go!

Thanks Chris! Hope you checked it out at my website. Usually when I upload an image to TC it looses a lot of quality...especially in term of contrast.

Not quite sure what I will work on next. Toying around with doing a 3D illustration...
Here's something new from the sketchbook.

"Cosmo at the Moon Palace" is incredible, I really dig the sivery moonlight. And the overall concept is sooo unusual/original!

Ok, decided on a sketch I had of an underwater Tiki and a mermaid as my next piece. Here it is in its very first stage.

As I work on the mermaid & Tiki posted above, I would love to know what everyone thinks of this idea.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and even though my family moved to South Florida when I was very young, I still love Brooklyn and am quite wistful of it. So....I came up with the following idea and would love to know what everyone thinks of this somewhat displaced Tiki. I may tackle this after the mermaid illustration.

Nice work!
Love the moon palace. U iz good!
However, I think you are right, the canvas is calling... It'd be good to see what you can do with analog art. I come from a back ground of digital art - like since the 80's until just 5 years ago. I wish I had put brush to canvas seriously long ago.
Computers are great art tools, and the only way to go if you are doing commercial illustration. That said.... fine art gallery patrons prefer originals on canvas. Your talent level says you could rawk with the big boys in the poly-pop art world. I say go for it.
