Year of the Tiger welcomed with 10-course meal, Chinese acrobats and traditional Dragon Dance
Gong Hay Fa Choi! Happy 4,708! Half of the world did not ring in the New Year on January 1 – for them, Sunday, February 14 marks the Chinese New Year and Don the Beachcomber will ring in the Year of the Tiger with a 10-course dinner, Chinese acrobats, singers, musicians and, of course, a traditional Dragon Dance by China Night. This event, from 7 p.m. to midnight, marks the rebirth of a tradition started years ago at Sam’s Seafood, where the Chinese New Year was celebrated annually in the community.

Entertainment will be provided by LA’s China Night, who will be performing many of the following:

Acrobatics of Balancing
Tea Pot Balancing
Changing Faces
Going Through the Barrel
Chinese Instrumental Music – Erwu
Kicking the Bowls
Comedy Magic and Acrobatics
Lion Dance & Baby Lion or Panda
Dragon Dance
Chinese Opera
Chinese Folk Dancers
Fortune Telling
Martial Arts or Wushu
Tai Chi Chuan

Here are some of the reviews:

Tonight Show with Jay Leno on China Night entertainer, Jason: “Fabulous!”

“Try the China Night … a night of dinner and entertainment you won’t soon forget… The show is definitely unique, and the talented performers provide a memorable night for guests.” Restaurant Guide 2001.

Los Angeles Magazine recommended China Night as one of the 150 things to do when the sun goes down. “If China had a Vegas, it would probably look a lot like China Night...”

Los Angeles Times: Bruce Springsteen at Staples Center. Esa-Pekka Salonen at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. And Miao Miao Chen (Acrobat of China Night) at the Golden Dragon... He (musician) melts the room...”

KTLA Channel 5: “...incredible entertainment.”

New Times “... jaw-dropping, unbelievable...”
