p.s. that pic of JP is blurry because that guy won't stop headbanging.
you can take the boy out of metal,
but you can't the metal out of the boy.

Just in case anyone was wondering exactly what it is that The Boardwalkers do...well, it's not your Father's surf trio (all the time).
...it's an extremely eclectic mix of instrumental music, ranging from full-blown, hard-rockin', double-pickin' surf, to extremely mellow, relaxing and Tiki-mood enhancing soundscapes.
An interesting variety of cover tunes will be brought to life amidst the unquestionably unique originals penned by local guitar legend and Boardwalkers founder Dan Valentie.
The following just might be a sample of what you're likely to hear tonight at Don's....
Henry Mancini
A cartoon theme???
Santo & Johnny
The Nautiloids
The Tornadoes
The Pyramids
The Citations
The Atlantics
Dave Myers & The Surftones
Pink Floyd???
The Truants
The Rockin' Rebels
Dave & The Customs
And just maybe a little bit of jazz, Spaghetti Western and Middle Eastern inspired sounds thrown in for good measure!
Those heading to the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa for the MOST EXCELLENT Swingin' Tikis and Hula Girls show, stop by afterwords on your way home for a nightcap at Don's!!!
OKOLE MALUNA!!!

I know I will be there all night,
as I wouldn't want to miss this rare appearance of the Boardwalkers at Dons.
and not that it is a popularity contest,
but the Hula Girls have a lot of gigs coming up at other venues.
Tonga Hut,Galaxy Theater, and Tiki Caliente in Palm Springs.
Cheers,
Jeff(btd)

Were leaving soon to head over to Dons but just wanted to share this.
The Seal Beach Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Saturday, March 13, 2010, from 8pm to 3am on Pacific Coast Highway between Anderson and Seal Beach Blvd.
I was talking to Bamboo Ben last weekend and we were discussing that would be a good category on TC to list dui checkpoints. Not that any of you angels are guilty of that!

I guess most of those people in the pics left before the show started.
only saw Mongoloid and his wife there.
and what was all this talk of Police check points?
I got there at 8 pm, and left at 2 am,
I didn't see any cops.
