I thought this was worth mentioning and a real bummer that another nostalgic piece of
our past is closing due to the economic times .I have been to this casino a number of
times with family and friends , however have not been there for quite a few years.

I love the pool that straddles the California/Nevada border.

Click on the B&W pic and tell if that would not be an ideal location for a tiki
establishment with that entry way and A frame.

How sad. I had my very first martini at the Cal Neva. It was a darn cool place.

I went there a few times to play Blackjack, during a vacation in the Lake Tahoe area, in late 1981 (I was 22). Spurred by impulse, intuition or inebriation (logically, I knew better), I split 10's against a dealer 6. Gee, I thought I was gonna get mugged by the whole table! Thankfully, the dealer busted, so everybody won, including both my hands - but I've never split 10's, again.
I remember it had a different, more casual and easy-going feel than the Vegas casinos. R.I.P.
