anyone else make candy? i got some food grade silicone and made my first molds.
just looking for advice as this is the first time i've ever tried. i also got the ingredients for gummi/gellie candies. luckily there's a store that caters to the industry close to my house. it's a rather large industry in vegas.

For your next SweeTiki you should make a carmel filled moai nose.

Lookin' good Perry! Are they dark chocolate so we can tell ourselves that they are good for us? At least you can eat your mistakes, can't do that with sterling silver!
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, art is knowing which ones to EAT

heh, i had bad heartburn late at night after making those. my tummy's not what it used to be.
they're not as dark as i'd like, but i had to start with some easy chocolate. it's only 58% cocoa.
when i get the tempering technique and molding down i'll switch to 80 or so.
i hope people understand that these are chocolates and not fine jewelry. the casts are a little rougher and don't go through a finishing process. i think the buffing wheel might not be good for them.

And my last cocktail at Trailer Happiness came with a chocolate moai to compliment the 15YO Pussers old fashioned made with cigar-infused maple syrup.

Not my listing, for sale on etsy. $16.00
Zombies, Coconut and rum flavored candy in a nice metal tin, supposedly from the 40's or 50's according to the Google searches I did on it.
