Cap's Place is worth the trip!

And if your lucky they will have fresh hearts of palm salad!

And the bar is beautiful!

How about thrift/vintage stores?
What are the best tiki trolling grounds?
or is that too much to ask... I don't want anyone to give away their secret hunting grounds

Not much Tiki to be found in our local thrifts. But your welcome to try!

Goodwill on Oakland Park Blvd.

Salvation Army on Broward Blvd.

Sunrise Plaza has some neat shops.

St Vincent DePaul on 4th in Wilton Manors.

There are two or three vintage/thrift options at 5 Corner in Wilton Manors.

And that is just the ones close to the event. If you have a car and want to venture further away let me know and I'll give you the "long list."

Well.... they call it a Super Store, but that just means it is freaking huge, right next to the Salvation Army HQ, and still full of crap with only the occasional cool mug.

That's because they are new. The old ones were made of paperboard. They were cut the same, but just not as nice.

Chip and Andy you've been a font (fonts?) of info! Thanks yet again!
We'll be staying with friends on Las Olas for part and at the Ritz-Carlton for part.
I'll be in for the whole week and will be far afield (South Beach one day, Coral Castle another, Keys a third, still seeing about Caps) and will have a car, so that's not an issue.
And HOW do I get a Wreck Bar menu??!!

TikiDavid: Actually, I was in Cleveland for a wedding a couple weeks ago, but we didn't meet. I didn't have any free time and didn't do my research to find any good vintage stores. I did however find 25 TV menehune swizzles (yay me!)

African, Oceanic and Meso-American Treasures from the Museum's Permanent Collection
April 20 - June 13, 2010
Elvis at 21: Photographs by Alfred Wertheimer
How'm I gonna fit everything in? Drat.

The same way I do;
Add a week to the front and a week to the back end of the trip,
and drive.
"Free Style!"

I thought a few days before (one week total) would be enough. I mean, I've been to FtL and SoBE before... but there just isn't going to be enough time.
