I'll start.
Porfidio Plata! If they had described it as Mexico's answer to moonshine, mountain dew or corn whiskey I would have bought it for that reason. It was on sale for $20 down from $40? Label say "Pure Cane Rum" and "single-cane, triple distilled" Makes no mention of what the "cane" is.
Avoid at all costs. Buy the grocery store brand before this crap.
I know everyone has their own taste, even no taste at all.  What are the other bad rums?

I avoid any rum that comes it what looks like a plastic Listerine bottle with a different label.

I am actually scared to try their tequila now.
Did they just pump the rum thru the tequila works?

Plastic bottles are not always a sign of bad hooch, as in this famous exception:
But cool labels on the other hand do not guarantee liquid gold:
Should have known that this discounter store rum was only good enough to cook with.

Worst I have had is easily "Conch Republic". I had to give it a try. It was so cheap. Some of my favorite rums are a mere $20-25 a bottle. But, whoa! This is bad stuff!
