The "What's Cookin?" Food War of 2010 got me thinking about Tiki food. How far back does Bongo Bongo Soup go on the Trader Vic's menu? I had my first bowl in 1985 and was given the impression that it was an old recipe and was one of Vic's signature dishes. Is it their oldest mainstay?

It was a Vic B. invention. So it may go back fairly far. There's a thread on the actual recipe on TC: http://www.tikiroom.com/tikicentral/bb/viewtopic.php?topic=11974&forum=10&10
