Dropped in uninvited, and was given a warm welcome. Had an "All Black", a dark rum cocktail that is a meal. YUM-MIE! Top notch environs by the Benster, love the fire inside and out.
Official opening is next weekend!

I know that the "NO", in Tiki No is for "North" Hollywood.

its comes of as a Negative.
as in No tiki.
but what do I no?

Well it does set them up for a lot of jokes...
Just think of it as referring to the artfulness of Noh theater, Jeff!

Funny....Yea...it's kinda hipster-ish.....hopefully it will be a Tiki -Yes establishment.
Torches and interior look good....so far the drink reports have been positive. Very cool.
Pretty soon hopefully, more people will seek the comfort of a good tropical cocktail in a bamboo and thatch environment.
This is a positive step, despite the hipster/ironic name.

It looks like they might have gotten hold of the old sign from the Islander in Grimes?

...or they reconstructed it? It is a very cool sign for sure. I also like that they have a smoker's porch which is half open to the street. When I was there, very few of the invited guests were actually drinking cocktails. The booths in the place, large and small, seem perfect for enjoying and sharing good cocktails, I really hope that the neighborhood appreciates that kind of drink artistry - or that they become a destination for it. Try the ALL BLACK !

Sabu you are always on top of things. That is a spitting image of the Grimes Islander
galvinized tiki sign .If that's not one of the old signs I am sure that's where they
got the design and idea from.Looks great...would like to find out more from owners
about sign out of curiosity. Thanks for the post Sabu and Sven.

Tiki bars like 1-syllable last names, like Tiki Hut, Tonga Room, Trader Vic's or Tiki-Ti.

So if a Tiki bar opens in East L.A., it would be called Tiki-Si ? At least that would be positivist enough for Jeff!

Funny, I noticed that about the sign too....that it looked familiar.
Nice to see that sign given a new life....Tiki Revival indeed.
