I thought Disney were the ones to sue at the slightest hint of copyright infringement. Here's Mickey Mouse ripping off Trader Vic!

Not that bad a shirt, considering.

You are correct about Disney and their agressive litigation strategy for any potential copyright issues. I interviewed with a firm that did just that in CA for Disney, and they were hardball. Of course I did not get the job!
I think the shirt is sub par anyway. The real nice Tiki Disney shirt is the old Tiki Room shirt, real colorful and great graphics. I have seen it attract bids of over $300 on ebay.

Just in case anyone thinks I've had a taste lapse, I think the Trader Mick's shirt isn't bad compared to other Disney shirts. Compared to other aloha shirts, it's pretty bad.
That rare Tiki Room shirt is very colourful, right? I think I know the one. Any idea of the decade Disney were selling them?

"Interesting" graphics on the shirt, but to paraphrase the old Wendy's commercial, "Where's the Tiki?"

Looks pretty nice in person, and it was only $38! I just got the red one last week at Disneyland (most of my shirts are blue for some reason).

Well, Tikigreg, you don't have to have a Tiki on something for it to be Tiki. We've been through the old 'What is Tiki?' argument many times, and not once did anyone suggest that it must strictly be a Tiki image.
The Trader Vic/Trader Mick association was enough for it to warrent a mention, at least in my eyes.

True, tiki can be implied within certain things, and I know Disney has the Enchanted Tiki Room, but for me, Mickey and Tiki don't go. For me Tiki is mysterious and somewhat spooky, and Mickey is not.
But then again, I'm not a big Disney fan.

The implication being that I am???
Sheesh. I feel for all those people who are now tarred with being Scooby Doo fans in TikiGreg's eyes just because they participated in that thread.

Nothing implied, just that there are a lot of people who appreciate Disney and the items associated with it. I like tiki, but I'm not partial to Mickey. For those who like the Mouse, Enjoy!

Fair enough. I too prefer my Tiki dark & alcohol laced, which doesn't quite fit the Disney image, though I must say I enjoyed my trip to Disneyworld & Epcot centre 15 years ago. Apologies for being a tad crabby earlier, but we'd just been booted out of the World Cup by Brazil.

No worries, mate! Again, to paraphrase, "It's a tiki world, after all!"

Here's a Disney Tiki shirt worth wearing. Aye Craumba! on that final bid price though.

Love that Tiki Room shirt but damn, it's tough to find!
Reyn Spooner put out the Miki Tiki shirt last year. They're a little pricy but really well made. Got one for my birthday and it's one of my favs! I am also a fan of the dark side of tiki but I can get away with this one at work on Aloha Fridays!
