Wendy your Divers Cove mug really is great, can't wait to see it all done up in color.. The tapa and woodgrain Bobs Really look amazing, so cool how each one that you have made so far are all so different. I wish I lived closer, it would be fun to have a small kine ceramic carving chop..

littlegiles it was fun to do the sheet metal Bob. Did you notice the word on the back? I'm glad you liked the clay tool photos. The Tiki Farm contest mug comes out of the kiln tomorrow. Doing a Zombie hand sounds like a good idea.
Professor G doing doodles was fun but a bit crazy. There is a rum keg on top of a palm tree.
Beachbumz come for a visit and we'll have a chop. I'm looking forward to glazing the Diver's Cove.
zerostreet I love your first mug.
hang10tiki you are a wood carver so I must have got it right doing a Pineapple Bob thank you.
WaikikianMoeKele thank you, let me know when your small Bob is safely in your hands. I so glad you like my newest work.
VampiressRN it was lots of fun doing the Diver's Cove. I'll have to do some other variations.
I had to work on something today before I could post. We have a guest for the Sacramento Crawl so that meant it was time to put away some of my ceramic projects mess. Well I wasn't about to put all those glazes back in the shed when there are so many things yet to glaze. But we are good for company now.
I've started the Volcano Missionary's Downfall Tattooed Woman Shrunken Head Bob for 19TikiCheif62.
This is going to have a combination of regular glaze with under-glazes and enamel.
Today I started the under-glazes.
Three layers take a long time so I only completed the woman, Bob's face and the shrunken head. Next I need to put 2 layers of clear on these areas.
Tomorrow we open the kiln mid-day so no posts until we do that.
I appreciate all your notes and visits. Thank you very much, Wendy

I did notice the word on the back of the sheet metal Bob, but didn't want to say anything in case you were using it as a surprise or contest. LOL
How long does it typically take you to fire a full load of bisque and let it cool? Just curious. With my small kiln, when I was china painting I could sometimes get two runs done in one day. I know you are dealing with a lot larger kiln and more stuff.

The carvings are wonderful. So eclectic and bob is so versatile
...but making us wait until the afternoon for an update is "simply unacceptable, young lady. Now, go to your kiln and don't come back until you have pictures to post".....
(pssst, do y'all think it worked?)

Hi Wendy,
I have been missing the Dan & Wendy show b/c I've been busy @ work and planning my upcoming to trip to SF & Big Sur for my brother's wedding but now I am all caught up!
I'm loving everything you do as usual but my favorite for the moment is the Pineapple Bob. Can't wait to see that glazed. Was that a wish list item or just something that you came up with?
Contemplating getting in on the mug swap but I may have just too much going on and I'm not sure I have a mug I want to get rid of, my collection is so small! If it were next month I would definitely participate but thanks for sharing the link, I would have missed it since I haven't been on TC that much lately.
Take care & keep the ceramics (and posts) coming!

littlegiles you are sharp! The mug sold to ebtiki who noticed the letters too. No contest this time but it did cross my mind. Did your necklace arrive? I run the kiln for 13 hours because I do preheats with a slow ramp. To cool it takes at least a day and a half.
dartharnie guess what I'll be glazing your wolf-man as soon I finish this one. Sorry you had to wait. The next few days I'll be posting in the evening showing the Sacramento crawl photos. I'm on a break from working on the Wish List.
LoriLovesTiki you'll have to make some mugs that you can swap in the future because it is just too much fun to miss. Pineapple Bob is not sold. Most of the Bob's have not sold but PM's can be sent. The recent Bob's are $75 but Pineapple Bob is a taller Bob and he costs $5,000! Just kidding. He's $85. Most of the Bob's are still for sale.
Progress Report on the Bob's and a few Wish List items:
We opened the kiln this morning. Top layer.
Bottom layer.
When the kiln was empty I put in all the things that needed a touch up.
We took them out to the back yard where they will be hosed off. I can see Alii Tiki's bowl and Beachbumz's bowl and a War God for Professor G and a couple of Bob's for ebtiki. Lots of these still need homes.
The weather turned bad. It's overcast, cold and windy. Not a good day to be drenched. Since I didn't want to leave them in the back yard while we crawl this weekend we carried them all into the house. There is always work that doesn't show up.
Psycho Tiki D is the person who got us into making ceramics. He also is a friend who we treasure. He came today to pick up his Test #3 crawl mug since he is missing the event. Dang it PTD you better go next year! *he said he would*
Every tiki/creature came out of the kiln just fine. The Diver's Cove the most likely to blow up since it had puffer fish didn't. I'm super happy with the success of this firing.
Soon we'll be on our crawl. It's going to be a terrific one. I wish you could all be with us.
Cheers, Wendy

Wendy, I love to see a successful firing and thanks for the timing info.
So glad the diver mug came out unharmed. Really looking forward to seeing that progress.
Have a great time at the Crawl and enjoy your company.
PS: I just had a weird thought pop in my head. Am I the first to think it would be funny if you did a "Sponge" Bob? A porous, yellow bob with some brown pants? LOL
- Dale
And here is my TikiBob necklace hanging around the neck of a very happy guy. Thanks again for the great gift.

I just got the beautiful tiger Bob today, and I have to say its far more striking in real life than any photo will ever capture. I got to find a hanging cord for him, not going to use him as a necklace but a good luck totem to hopefully help bring me luck in my art career and as such will hang in my art studio.
I hesitate to mention it because you have been so wonderful and it sounds nitpicky, but my user name is tigertail777 (three 7's) not four LOL. I chose three 7's because both "3" and "7" are odd numerically and magical numbers. But don't feel bad my own sister often makes the same mistake.

I was so worried about the Diver's Cove Mug exploding, so glad it came through okay.
