As many of you already know, Victor Vector of the hugely influential Instro group Man or Astroman? has been hospitalized in rough shape, and, as is typical for a lot of musicians, has limited or no health insurance. A benefit concert is to be held tomorrow to help with his expenses. PLEASE make time to attend and assist a great musician!
An incredible line-up is scheduled to perform Sunday, March 27, doors open at noon:
1pm, Bodysnatchers
2pm, Point Doom
3pm, Secret Samurai
4pm, The Reventlos
5pm, The Tequila Worms
6pm, High Tides
7pm, The Insect Surfers
It all takes place at Suzy's in Hermosa Beach. Lots of door prizes, tons of fun for a good cause. See you there! Thanks!!!

1141 Aviation Boulevard
Hermosa Beach, CA 90254-4027

for those that didn't hear,
Victor Vector of MOAM developed a staff infection in his lungs at the end of the latest 'Man or Astroman?' and has been hospitalized in the ICU unable to use his own lungs. This event is being put together in aid of Victors extensive medical bills.
Get well soon Victor!

Though definitely not Tiki MOAM overlap into Sci-Fi, B Movie, and vintage Surf. They were the last great band from the early 90s US Surf music revival. I will b @ their SF gig as will several of the NorCal Ohana

thanks for backing me up Otto,
and for those that thought that Combustible Edison reunion was a big deal,
well this is in the same scale of sorts.
I'm going to the SD and LA shows,
who else is going?
by the way, both of those shows are sold out.
but they say if you show up, you (may) be able to get tix at the door.

I will be at at the MOAM show on Sunday. Thanks for the heads up BTD.
I got tickets just in time. If it weren't for you I would have missed this.
Plus I thought Surf music WAS Tiki (even the Bigbro has validated this).
Wouldn't all Surf music events be Tiki events ??

Well as much as I like Surf,
Man or Astroman is on the far edges of the surf that I would consider
connected to Tiki.
It's not like they wear Hawaiian shirts and play Bali Ha'i, or Endless summer.
ha ha ha

Yeah, this isnt TIKI related, but this is a great cause. Jonny (from Jonny & The Shamen, AKA Victor Vector from MOAM) is in bad shape and could really use some help. The benefits from this show will go to him and his family during this tough time. Plus you get to rock out for a few hours. that's a Win-Win situation right there!!!
Thanks for putting this together, Jeff. You rock!
I hope to see some of you SoCal tiki-philes there!

I would like to go to this event but I'm coming back from Vegas that day and will probably head straight to North Hollywood.
I want to support GROG and the art show that he's organizing at the Tonga Hut (even though I really hate that f*cking Tiki Bob).
I AM looking forward to my commissioned "Unholy Bob" mug which is the antithesis of everything that the original Tiki Bob stands for.
