I've got 2 large Washington Palms in my yard that shed regularly, but the bases of the fronds are very skinny and not suitable for painting on.
Anyone in NorCal have any spare larger base fronds laying around?
I'll take them off your hands and make some cool stuff this them.

Queen Palms work best for this.

The Canary Island date palms have nice thick fronds if you are looking to do some carving. They are relatively cold hardy, growing as far north as England - you should be able to find them in NorCal
