Tikis from Portugal, cool!
I'm not a carver but I know that symetry can be a difficult thing. From what I read the key is in sketching the tiki to the log before you start and then following your lines. I see that some of the carvers cut a heavy paper template and use it to trace the marks. You can make the template as half of the tiki, trace one side, then flip it over and trace the other side

remember when you were in school, and you were making valentine's day cards by folding a piece of paper in half, before you cut it?|
That's how I make symmetrical stencils. I'm terrible at freehand drawing.
Best of luck bro! You're off to a pretty good start!

The problem is the branches i use , arent semetrical..So even i use guide lines, in the end, it never looks completly semetrical. but ill try harder next time!
And by the way can someone tell me +- how long time it takes so the wood is dry and ready to work?
