From James Tietelbaum's Tiki Bar Review Pages
Bamboo Hut, San Francisco, CA
Hawaii West, San Francisco, CA
Hukilau, San Francisco, CA
Hukilau Island Grill / Aloha Lounge Sacramento, CA
Hula's Monterey, CA
Kaleo Cafe, San Francisco, CA
Punahele Island Grill, San Francisco, CA
Temple Bar, Berkeley, CA
Tiki’s Hawaiian Massage, Berkeley, CA
Trader Vic's, Emeryville, CA
Trader Vic’s[/url], Palo Alto, CA
Tonga Room, San Francisco, CA
Trad'r Sam, San Francisco, CA
All those links are reviews on his website... the directions, PHEW. I've only been to the Tonga Room, Vic's Emeryville, and Trad'r Sam. I could only really recommend TV's and the Tonga Room. I didn't like Trad'r Sam's crowd.. but, the decor is nice. I don't remember the drinks... it was the SF tiki crawl.
Better NorCal area natives will answer better though, I'm sure.

Whoa...you can skip a lot of that if you're only here for the weekend:
Must See's:
Trader Vic's, Emeryville
Tonga Room, San Francisco
Tier Two:
Trader Vic's Palo Alto - watered down
Trad'r Sam, San Francisco - Neighborhood dive, loved only by me. *sniff*
Bamboo Hut, San Francisco - Good decor, baaaad drinks
Hawaii West - not bad decor, near Bamboo Hut
Conga Lounge, Oakland - promising newcomer with a ways to go.
These are hawaiian restaurants only:
Hukilau, San Francisco, CA - pretty good
Hukilau Island Grill / Aloha Lounge Sacramento, CA
Hula's Monterey, CA
Kaleo Cafe, San Francisco, CA
Punahele Island Grill, San Francisco, CA
Don't Bother- Not Open:
The Temple Bar, Berkeley
Whatever:
Tiki’s Hawaiian Massage, Berkeley, CA
Hanford - please move this thread.

Hi Martiki -
Thanks for your repy. I checked out the fairmont. I wish we were staying longer.. or I would have booked our room there. Looks great. We will definately check that one out. My husbands band (Atomiks)has a show on saturday night at club on Polk St. So our trip will be short. Are there any good places to get collectables?

Well, the ol' towns been pretty picked clean, but check out X-21 in the Mission district. Mostly 50s modern furniture., but they had vintage float lamps and loads of mugs last time I was there.
