Name:Tiki Motel Type:motel Street:1370 East Hiawatha Drive City:Wisconsin Dells State:WI Zip: country:USA Phone: Status:operational
Description:
I came across this nice old photo for the Tiki Motel located in the Wisconsin Dells. It is now called the Aloha Beach Resort.
Here is a close up of the sign and the Tiki fountain.
And the A-Frame lobby building and gift shop (note the nice Tiki door handles.
I have also seen this postcard that shows one of the hotel buildings with some minor a-frame features. I think Sabu has a better postcard showing some more Tiki elements of the complex.
Here is the back of the postcard with a rendering of the Tiki that is shown in the old photograph.
The Tiki Motel suffered the same de-evolution as many others, turning into the Aloha Beach Resort that now looks like this in all of its neon-party-paint glory.

Wow. Fake palm trees. I wonder if they're cell phone antennas.

Reminds one of the plastic Palm Trees from the Wildwood motels.
Discussed in more detail here.

I just got this nice postcard from the Tiki Motel in the Wisconsin Dells.
The sign and building.
Looks to be an older shot before they changed the sign and added the Tiki fountain as seen in this photo.
The guest room building.
And the interior with a carved Tiki and Tapa.

The fountain sorta reminds me of the look of some of the decor around THE TIKI in Lake Geroge. Where the Ohana takes place.

Sneakyjack,
I have this other postcard that provides a great view of the Tiki fountain.
The back of the card says it all
RELAX.
